About

Filmmaking is my life. It’s the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do and I can’t imagine ever doing anything else for a living.

I’m one of the lucky ones – I genuinely love my job. I work at Twist & Shout Communications, a KnowBe4 Company, as Deputy Director, which allows some expansion beyond the editing that I still spend the majority of my time doing for the company. As part of KnowBe4 the big recent success has been the award-winning information security series “The Inside Man” which has just premiered its fifth season at no less a venue than the Odeon Leicester Square. Truly a dream come true.

Twist & Shout has always prided ourselves as being “storytellers for business” and use comedy extensively in creating compelling video-based campaigns, which generate a viral effect within companies – encouraging employees to share the films and having them pick up the messages almost without realising.

The two years before I joined Twist and Shout I was freelance editing for a wide range of companies and for the two and a half before that I worked for Finishing Post Creative as one of their editors, doing both offline and online editing on Avid Media Composer. I became experienced on a wide range of projects from shopping TV and direct sales commercials to conferences and corporate films, working creatively as well as learning about the technical requirements of broadcast video.

I also have a great passion for drama and I have directed (as well as edited) several short films, with “The Raid” featuring as a Vimeo Staff Pick, and my irreverent 3 minute comedy “Serious Movie” taking second place in the BritFilms.tv 24 Hour Film Challenge.

My main suite is a Final Cut Pro system, though I still dabble in the other options from time to time, most recently delving into the world of DaVinci Resolve, with some Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro skills still locked in my memory somewhere!
